Captain Hiawatha P. Wood was a member of the U.S. Army. He served in WWII and the Korean War. He was attached to a field artillery unit. He served in China where he taught field artillery methods to the Chinese. He received three battle stars and a commendation for meritorious service. He was also injured in the line of duty.
